In recent news, there’s a new phone out. Not a new version of the iPhone, Samsung, Blackberry…this is a PHONE. An actual device that does ONLY what a phone was meant to do in the first place. When someone first invented a telephone, what was it for? Instagram, email, or weather don’t come to mind…it was meant for making or receiving calls! So, this new device, called the “Light Phone,” connects with your phone and forwards any calls that you may get. You can ONLY make or answer calls. It’s just a white screen and there’s nothing to look at.
This was done to get individuals talking more, instead of texting. Which is good, because “do you want to go out for lunch” does not mean “check your email every ten minutes.” I’ll admit that I’m guilty of always being on my phone…I do keep everything organized on there, but social media takes up a large portion of a teenager’s life. Can you imagine what it would be like without ANY social media platforms? Or even a life without computers as bulky as the 2000 models you would find at the old hardware store down the street (which are basically obsolete now?) Yeah, me neither.
