Last week, I took a trip to Cedarpoint, apparent Rollercoaster Capital of the World, after TEN years! The park had added many rides since the last time I went, and it was SUPPOSED to take two hours to reach there, but instead it took three because of a detour, and we arrived an hour after the park opened, when there was a lot of rush at the more attractive rides, and the wait times were 1-2 hours. My sister and I waited two hours at the Raptor, while my parents attempted to snag a place for us in line at the Dragster, one of the only two (the other is the Kingda Ka, at Six Flags)
strata coasters in existence (a strata coaster is one that exceeds 400 feet in height.) The Raptor was worth the wait, but when we ran to the Dragster, my parents were nowhere to be seen. This was because the ride had been closed down, after my impatient waiting to reach Cedarpoint solely for the ONE THING I wanted to go on … last time I was there, it malfunctioned and dropped back down instead of going over the hill. Well, I walked to the other side of the park and went on other rides, from Wicked Twister (which was my favourite), Maxair, Skyhawk, Windseeker, Millennium Force (which is a giga coaster (full circuit roller coaster to stand over 300 feet tall, breaking ten world records at opening), Rougarou, and Witches Wheel. I was not able to ride the Gatekeeper, (in which riders sit on the edge of the track, instead of ON the track) or Maverick either (too long wait times.) I hope to go back sometime this summer, and you can bet I will SPRINT to Dragster like there’s no tomorrow.
