Raw Pomegranate Carrot Juice Recipe

Today we are making a Raw Pomegranate Carrot Juice Recipe! Raw juicing – what’s the deal? In the last few years, as the health industry has grown exponentially, raw juicing has become a staple in healing diets. You may have noticed certain juices on the market, such as Naked, which have attempted to stay on top of this trend (by loading their drinks with sugar, unknown to the customer).

However, *real* raw juice has amazing benefits. Ready made juices available on the market need something to be able to stay on the shelf for as long as they do, and are usually pasteurized so they get heated and processed which kills their nutrients.

Benefits of Juicing

Real raw juicing has myriad health benefits though. We usually aren’t able to eat the same amount of fruits and vegetables as we can drink, so juicing them gives us many extra nutrients to absorb, increases immunity/energy, and gives the digestive system a break from processing the fiber in raw veggies. It’s best to drink juice as soon as it’s made, since it oxidizes when exposed to air.

So I tried using pomegranate in my juicer, and it worked out really well with a delicious flavor! Although really, you can throw just about any vegetable or fruit in the juicer and get something tasty out of it. I generally tend to stick to a base of carrots or beets. Then you can mix other flavors and add-ins, such as ginger, pepper, turmeric, or lime. To get in on the real raw juicing trend, you can buy a juicer and get ready for a ton of extra vegetable pulp (check out this post on how to use all that extra pulp)!

Or, use a blender with a lot of water and a cheesecloth. I haven’t tried it for this recipe yet, but I’ve seen the juicer hacks online if you don’t own one but still want fresh juice!

Why You’ll Love This Raw Pomegranate Carrot Juice Recipe

Refreshing and Hydrating: This carrot pomegranate juice is incredibly refreshing, especially when served chilled. It can be a great way to hydrate your body during hot summer months. Or, use as a pre-workout drink or a healthy snack for energy, because of the high amount of total carbs when juicing fruit!

Vibrant Color: The vibrant red color of pomegranate juice and the bright orange hue of carrot juice is so visually aesthetic! Drinking a glass of raw juice can make many bright colors with all the fresh fruit and veggie options, which makes it even more appealing to drink.

Lots of Vitamins: Taking a look at the nutritional information of these both, you’ll see that both pomegranate and carrots are great sources of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, E and so much more.

Substitutions

Lime: Use a fresh lemon instead of lime.

Turmeric: You can use a small piece of fresh turmeric instead of powder. Start with a very small piece, as fresh turmeric has a strong flavor. Note that it will also stain the juicer a yellow color, which is not ideal. This can also be omitted.
